"Jos. P. Arguelles Dies at Biloxi Home"

"Joseph P. Arguelles, 4123 East Howard avenue, husband of Louise E. Bellman, died at 4 p.m. yesterday at his home. He was 78 years old and a native Biloxian. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Donald, US Army, and Warren, Biloxi, and five daughters, Florence, Lillian, Bernerdine, Louise and Mrs. Geo. Pavlov, and a sister, Mrs. Peter Eskald, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday morning from the home with mass at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity and burial in Biloxi Cemetery. Mr. Arguelles was in the factory business having been employed by the Dunbar-Dukate Co. for many years until retirement in 1925. He was active in the Biloxi Lodge of Elks. His death is the third in the family inless than three monthss. A son, Ab, died Dec. 16, and another son, Frank, on Dec.29. Father James Whelan, a nephew from Loyola University, is among those from out-of-town who will be here for the funeral."

Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 31, pg 20: Peter was 78 years, 3 months, 5 days old when he died at his residence, 413 E. Howard Ave. from chronic myocarditis due to arterial hypertension. He was a retired factory foreman. These records list his father as Francis Daves, native of Spain, and Bridgett McNeary, native of Ireland.
