Little is known about Grandfather Henry Riney. He was a farmer who lived near St. Patrick MO with his wife and children, four of whom died before reaching a year old. They raised five of their children to adulthood, all of them marrying and having children of their own except for Uncle Andy Jack, who also farmed in the St. Patrick area. He died at the age of 37, probably of alcohol poisoning. Grandfather lived to the age of 67, unlike many of the Riney men who tend to die at a very early age, usually from heart trouble. Since no Death Certificate or obituary has been found, the exact cause of death has not been determined, but it was probably from heart disease.
