Suggested edit: I can clearly see the death certificate shows birth date of 24 Mar 1843. However, in the 1850 census with his parents and siblings, it list him as being 12 years old. That would indicate a DOB of 1837-1838. Without further proof, it would seem the earlier DOB would carry weight of his parents, as opposed to the informant on the death certificate.
