Cathey Rose Stephens Lujan, age 61, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at her home in Ovilla. She was born September 3, 1947 in Payson, Utah to Richard L and Nadine G. (Steele) Stephens. She married Manuel P. Lujan in 1968 and was sealed for all eternity in the Dallas, Texas temple in 2008. Cathey was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a member of the Pecan Sisters and loved serving with children.
Cathey is survived by her husband, Manuel P. Lujan of Ovilla; mother, Nadine G. Stephens; one grandson, Joshua W. Day and his wife Randi; one great grandson, Julian D. Day; three brothers, Randy A. Stephens and his wife Carrie, Chad E. Stephens and his wife Cecelia and Perry R. Stephens; two sisters, Vicki L. Stewart and her husband Douglas and Cindy L. Critzer. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Pilling Lujan Day; grandson, Darrell Day; father, Richard L. Stephens; brother, Troy L. Stephens; sister, Deena M. Ward and grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Steele Cox. Funeral services are scheduled for 10AM Thursday, June 25, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Kevin Mawhinney officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy A. Stephens, Chad E. Stephens, Perry R. Stephens, Robert Eoff, Daniel Horne and Brent Kimball. Interment was at 11AM Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Sunset Memorial in Moab, Utah.
