Raymond Lloyd Adcox, 66, of Clinton, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away at his home on Monday, July 10, 2006.

He was born Aug. 20, 1939, in Coalfield, Tenn., to Lloyd and Cecil Ruffner Adcox.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. Mr. Adcox was the owner of Ray Adcox Chevrolet in Oak Ridge. He was a charter member of Faith Promise Church. Mr. Adcox was a licensed auctioneer and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Dean Adcox.

Survivors include his wife, June Alsip Adcox; daughter, Lesa Ann Maddux, and her husband, K.J., of Andersonville; two brothers, Tommy Adcox and his wife, Katherine, and Herb Adcox and his wife, Jean, all of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Michael Alsip and his wife, Diana of Atlanta, Ga.; and four granddaughters, Amanda Maddux, Courtney Maddux, Emily Maddux, and Kaitlyn Maddux, all of Andersonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Chris Stephens and the Rev. Billy Edmonds officiating. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the mortuary from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Misty Brown, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909-2780.
