Deborah Ann Minton Adcock

Deborah Ann Minton Adcock passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, after a courageous two- year battle with cancer. Her beautiful smile and radiant spirit could not be conquered. Debbie was the consummate professional serving the East Texas area as a CPA for the last 26 years, starting her career with Henry and Peters P.C. in Tyler and serving the last seventeen years with Smith, Lambright and Associates in Athens.

She was a 1974 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, graduating as Valedictorian and a national merit finalist. She graduated from the business school at Baylor University in 1978 with highest honors. In August of 1978, she married her high school sweetheart, Ron Adcock. They moved to Athens in 1980 to start a family and found their church home at First Baptist Church of Athens.

She became very involved singing in the choir, acting as children's choir coordinator, teaching youth Sunday school for 20 years and playing handbells. In addition to being an active member of the church, she made herself available to the community through the United Way and the Henderson County HELP Center.

She was a leader in her profession and was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and Chi Omega Sorority. Her family and friends were her center of joy and she was passionately devoted to them. She will leave a lasting legacy in all aspects of her life and she will be missed immensely by her family, friends, and many professional colleagues and clients.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 29 years, Ronald E.
