DECATUR - Mrs. Gladys Raver, 74, of Decatur, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she had been a patient two months. She had been ill a year. Born Jan. 2, 1898, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Amanda (Robinson) Bell.
Survivors include a son, Richard L. of Van Wert; a brother, Clinton A. Bell of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Welch of Rt. 1, Yoder, Ind.; and a granddaughter, Nola Ann of Van Wert. Preceding her in death was her husband, Howard A. Raver, who died on July 3, 1971.
Mrs. Raver owned and ran the South End Grocery Store in Decatur with her husband for many years. She was a member of Nuttman Ave. United Brethren Church and the WMS Society of the church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Nuttman Ave. United Brethren Church with the Rev. Sylvester Martin officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the Zwick Funeral Home in Decatur from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and at the church two hours prior to services.
