Vancel Richard Absher, born April 1 1928 in Comanche Ok, Stephens
Co., to Lewis Olvie and Lucinda Elizabeth Turner Absher, died Dec.
14 1998 in Duncan Regional Hospital in Duncan. He graduated from
Comanche High School with the class of 1947.

He married Naomi Lee Brookshire on Aug. 12 1953 in McPherson Kansas.
He worked in construction as a welder for Chicago Bridge and Iron
Boilermakers. He was a member of the Kansas City Boilermakers Union.
He had lived in Marlow for about 14 years. He is survived by his
wife of the home, a brother Henry Absher of Tuson AZ, three sisters
and two brothers-in-law, Juanita Tower of Reno Nev., Oleta and
Truman Houston of Wichita Falls TX, Esther and Elton Lamb of Marlow,
five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Lois Absher and Mary
Helen Absher both of Comanche, Oleta Absher of Azle TX, Melvin L.
Michaelsen of California, Iona and Jim Day of Spring Branch TX and
Ann and Jerry King of Odessa TX., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ted Tower, one niece and her spouse, Ruth and Nelson Smith and a
nephew's spouse, Lorna Absher. A graveside service was held in
Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche with Rev. Jerry Couch officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home
of Marlow.
