(Lapierre) Brodeur, 70, of 1201 Burnett Road, a Girl Scout leader and retired 15-year cook for the city school system, died Monday at home. She retired in 1976. She was a former leader of Girl Scout Troop 317 in Chicopee, and received the Girl Scouts' Outstanding Achievement Award for her dedicated service. Born in Holyoke, she lived most of her life in this city, and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church of Chicopee Falls. She was a member of Chapter 8 of the Pioneer Valley Campers Association, and the St. Anne's Guild. She leaves her husband of 50 years, Norman Brodeur; two sons, Norman A. of Kansas City, Mo., and Donald A. of Easthampton; two daughters, Gale B. Limberg and Sylvia K.M. Menard of Chicopee; six brothers, Adrien, Raymond, Donald and Roger of Chicopee, and Daniel of Long Island, N.Y., and Vincent of Springfield; five sisters, Yvette Bergeron, Gertrude Lapierre, Florence Losty and Frances McCann of Chicopee, and Theresa Crevier of Irving, Texas, and eight grandchildren.The funeral will be Thursday morning at Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home of Willimansett, and in the church, with burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery, both in Chicopee Falls. Calling hours are Wednesday afternoon and evening.Memorial contributions may be made to the Pioneer Valley Hospice, 570 Cottage St., Springfield, 01104, or St. Patrick's School Memorial Fund, Montgomery Street, Chicopee, 01020.Born: Nov. 03, 1920 in Holyoke, MA.Died: June 10, 1991 in Chicopee, MA.Daughter of Israel LaPierre and Blanche Comtois.
