Shellie Avo (Maynard) York, 88, of Decatur, GA, passed away Aug. 29, 2009, in Snellville, GA.
A memorial service was held at the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home Sept. 2, with Bro. Douglas Hawkins officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. York was born July 9, 1921, in Jackson County, TN, the daughter of the late William L. and Ingie (Hawkins) Maynard.
She was a bookkeeper with the Internal Revenue Service.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda and husband, Robert, Grant of Suwanee, GA; son, Jeffery York of Jacksonville, FL; and brother, James Maynard, of Crossville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael York.
