Funeral services for George G. Messersmith, 58, of 1003 Manor dr., Wilmette, president of J. F. Helmold & Brother Inc., 1462 Shakespeare av., manufacturers of steel cutting and creasing equipment, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at 1104 Waukegan rd., Glenview. Mr. Messersmith, who died Saturday, had been with the firm of 38 years and had been president for the last eight years. He is survived by his widow, Dorothy; his mother, Mrs. Hildegard Saylor; two sons, George Jr. and Richard, and two grandchildren. - Chicago Tribune, January 1, 1962, page 6
