D Henry Leavitt, full of life, energy and love, graduated peacefully from this life to the next on July 21, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was surrounded by his fan club and loved ones who sent him on his way rejoicing!

His 19 grandchildren were able to kiss him goodbye. They will miss his gigantic bear hugs, frequent phone calls, and boundless enthusiasm for their accomplishments.

A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he epitomized the virtuous, Christian life as a humble disciple of Jesus Christ. His life was devoted to serving others. He always had an encouraging word, a meal, or a hug to anyone who looked like they needed it. He went the extra mile with no thought of reward. He knew that charity is the pure love of Christ, and never faileth.

For over 30 years, D Henry was a pillar of the medical community, teaching, training and leading others. He particularly loved helping the Chiropractic Profession and had their best interests at heart and "watched their backs."

D Henry is survived by his eternal wife Grace; his 4 children LaMont (Kris) Leavitt of Spanish Fork, Utah; Wyn (Paul) Staheli of Diamond Valley, Utah; Lynette (David) Lewis of Spanish Fork, Utah; and LaReita (Dave) Berky of Spanish Fork, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the "D Henry Leavitt Memorial Fund" at Wells Fargo Bank. Due to his love of the Chiropractic Profession, this fund will benefit students who are entering this field who want to bless the lives of others. Because he lived in Phoenix for 46 years, this fund will also aid college-bound students in his community.

A viewing will be Friday, July 24th, and Saturday, July 25th with funeral services immediately following at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 8710 N. 3rd Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.

Funeral services in St. George will be held at Monday, July 27, 2009, at Spilsbury Mortuary. Interment will take place at the Tonaquint Cemetary.
