LAURA E. TUCKER was born on 07 March 1887 in Noble Township, Richland County, Illinois, USA. She was the daughter of Hugh M. Tucker and Elsie Elizabeth Maglone. Laura's father Hugh died when she was quite young. When she was two years old, on 28 Nov 1889, her mother married again, to her father's first cousin, Abraham Douglas Tucker. Abe had previously been married to Elsie's first cousin, Clara "Carrie" Dickey, but Carrie also died young, leaving Abe a widower with a young daughter to raise, Julia May Tucker. The two daughters, May and Laura, were double second cousins to each other, but now they became step-sisters in the new merged family. They each shared a half-brother when their younger sibling, Corta Emery Tucker, was born in 1893.

Laura grew up in Noble Township, Richland County, Illinois, USA and it was there that she married Charles Ealy, son of George W. Ealy and Elnora Mitchell, on 08 March 1906. Charles was a Minister of the Christian Church. The couple settled in Noble, Illinois for a time and had two sons born there -- Abraham G. Ealy (born in 1914), and Charles Emery Ealy, who was born in 1916. Charles Emery Ealy died in infancy, at only 5 months old; he was buried in Noble Prairie Cemetery in 1917.

In 1918, the family was still in Noble, Illinois, but sometime before 1920 they relocated to Indiana. They appeared on the 1920 census in Marion, Grant County, Indiana, USA. Their last son, Marvin, was born in 1921 in East Saint Louis, Saint Clair County, Illinois. By the 1930 census, the family had settled in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana, USA. They were still there on 27 April 1942 when Charles filled out his WW2 draft card; however, later that year Charles died unexpectedly of heart disease on 27 July 1942. He was buried in Noble Prairie Cemetery, in Noble, Richland County, Illinois, USA. Laura lived as a widow for another 22 years, and then she died in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana on 24 January 1965. She was buried next to her husband in Noble Prairie Cemetery.
