Miriam, born Dingwall, was the wife of Yale Professor Kanichi Asakawa, native of Japan. They were married for only eight years prior to her death. Miriam is buried with her parents and other family members, but these graves, while recorded, are unmarked. Professor Asakawa died in 1948 and is buried in Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven.
