NEEF, FREDDIE – News Article – 6 year-old son of Fred Neef, the wholesale liquor dealer on Fifteenth Street, wandered away from home, Eighth and Pearl Streets, Highlands, was supposed to have been drowned in the Zang brewery pond, a short distance from the boy's home. He was accustomed to go to the pond with a spaniel and compel the dog to enter the water. It is supposed he fell in and was drowned. The water is fully eight feet deep at some points. Up to late this morning his body had not been recovered. The little fellow wore a light-colored waist and red pants. He was of light complexion. Rocky Mountain News 5/7/1890 Pg 7 News

present and they did all in their power to alleviate the suffering of the heartbroken parents.
