Mr. Hommel was a native of Snyder County, born in Spring Township on Thursday, June 11, 1903 a son of the late Isaac and Tama Peters Hommel.
He had been a shoe factory employee in Lebanon for many years and was a member of God's Missionary church R.D.1 Beavertown.
Surviving are his wife, the former Gertrude Walter, a daughter and three sons, Mrs. Paul Jones of Pottstown, Albert Hommel of Herndon, Raymond Hommel of Jonestown, and Mark Hommel of Lebanon.
Also surviving are 11 grand-children and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Hackenberg of Beavertown and Mrs. John Walter of Newville.
A daughter and a son preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 1963 from the God's Missionary church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Truman Wise, assisted by the Rev. Maran Crock of Lebanon. Interment was made in the Troxelville Union Cemetery.
