Pasquale "Pat" Adamo, husband of the late Sophie (Sobieski) Adamo, of Champion Street, Westerly, passed away on May 22, 2009, at the Westerly Nursing Home at the age of 89.
He was born in Westerly, the son of the late John and Mary (Gentile) Adamo. Pat was the owner and operator of the former Midway Service Station in Pawcatuck for many years.
A communicant of St. Pius X Church, he also was a former member of the Westerly Town Council, as well a former member of the Board of Trustees at The Westerly Hospital. Pat was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Brenda J. Collins and her husband William, Judith A. Smith, and Deborah J. Scavello and her husband Francesco, all of Westerly. Pat also leaves one brother, Atty. John Adamo of Westerly, and two sisters, Gloria Dutrumble of Montville, Conn. and Dorothy Cramer of Albany, N.Y.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael Smith, Robert Scavello and his wife Beth, and Jessica Klick and her husband Anthony; two great-grandchildren, Robert Scavello Jr. and Arianna Scavello; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Eleanor Walsh, Violet Adamo, and Nellie Lombardo.
Visiting hours will be held in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., which will be celebrated in St. Pius X Church, Elm Street, Westerly. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
