June Lee Tripp was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Van Buren, Mo., the daughter of John R. and Dora (Chilton) Dawson. She departed this life May 9, 2009, in St. John's St. Francis Hospital at the age of 87. Jane was united in marriage to Eugene Harvey Tripp on June 21, 1941, in Van Buren, Mo., and to this union, two children were born. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Eugene Harvey Tripp Sr.; children, Eugene Harvey Tripp Jr. and Deanna Jane (Tripp) Williford; and siblings, Elza, James, George, Gladys, Tolman, Bailey, John and Thomas Lynn. She is survived by grandchildren, David Tripp and wife, Kristi, of Trail Creek, Ind.; Shelia (Tripp) Hamilton of Chicago, Ill., Heather (Tripp) Wyse of LaPorte, Ind.; and Jamie (Williford) Barclay of St. Louis, Mo.; and one sister, Dorothy (Dawson) Hare of Arkansas. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. June worked as secretary and accountant for Tripp Lumber Company in Birch Tree, Mo., and as a sales associate for Becker Jewelry in Mountain View. She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church since 1957, where as an accomplished organist, she played for many years. She was also a member of the Mountain View Chapter 146 Eastern Star and volunteered for many years at St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop. June had many hobbies and was a member of many organizations. She enjoyed painting, crochet and playing the organ. June was also an accomplished gardener and was a member of the Mountain View Garden Club, winning many awards. She was a strong spiritual resource and an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be missed. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in United Methodist Church, Mountain View. Interment was in Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren, Mo., under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View.
