Orvil Preston Laymon, 67, died on Sunday, April 26, 2009, along with his wife, Patricia Laymon, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was a member of New Harvest Church, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Millwright Local Union 654, and the Hixson Masonic Lodge 727 F&AM. He was a retired Spring City police officer and a former Rhea County Sheriff's Deputy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Laymon and Martha Reed; brother, Leonard Laymon.

He is survived by his sons, Jim Laymon, Randy Laymon; daughter, LaChon Brumlow; brothers, James, Gary and Danny Laymon; sister, Sandy Elswick; daughter-in-law, Beverly Laymon; son-in-law, Mike Brumlow; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ray Hill officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Poe Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday and after noon Thursday at the funeral home.
