Services for Samuel L. Oliver, Sr., 80 [1874], formerly of Marina Village, who died Saturday in St. Vincent's hospital, where he had been admitted Aug. 4 for surgical treatment, will take place tomorrow.
They will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the John Lesko and Son funeral home, 1290 Fairfield avenue with the Rev. Mr. Raymond Ahrens, student assistant pastor of the United Congregational church, officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Grove cemetery.
A native of Briar Creek, Pa., Mr. Oliver resided here 34 years [1920], He is survived by three sons, Frank of Bridgeport, Clarence of Fairfield, and Samuel Oliver, Jr., of Darien; two daughters, Mrs. Mellie [Nellie] Miller of Bridgeport and Mrs. Eva Johnson of Norwalk; a brother, Harry Oliver of Rossville, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
