Ed Flick Jr., Ill One Year, Death Victim

W. Edward Flick, Jr., 36, Tarentum resident until two years ago when he moved to Indianapolis, Ind., died there at 1:15 p.m. Saturday after an illness of one year. Death occurred in Veterans Administration Hospital in that city. A year ago he underwent an operation on the back in the Indianapolis hospital where death occurred. He never completely recovered from the condition which necessitated that surgery. Mr. Flick was graduated from Tarentum High School in 1937 and later from American Academy of Embalming and Mortuary Science in New York City. He was associated with W. Edward Flick Funeral Home in Tarentum. He enlisted in the Navy as a pharmacist's mate and after his discharge he enlisted and served with Graves Registration Commission in Hawaii. He is survived by his widow, Doris Keyes Flick; two children by a previous marriage, W. E. Flick III, and Danny Lasher Flick; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Flick, Tarentum; four sisters: Mrs. William A. (Eleanor) Arnold, II, Greenwick, Conn.; Mrs. Crawford W. (Jane) Hallet, Zanesville, Ohio; Nell F. Stull, Tarentum, and Mrs. R. B. (Sally Ann) Clover, Natrona Heights, and one brother, Walter J. L. Flick, Brackenridge. Friends will be received in Flick Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Tuesday and until noon Wednesday. Private funeral services will be held by Rev. Robert Faust Sheaffer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, of which he was a member, followed by private burial in Mt. Airy Cemetery.
