Emily Dean Rodgers, 19, of Monroe died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Mercy Memorial Hospital's Intensive Care Unit.
Friends may call from 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Delmar Moore, pastor of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Terry Pierce of Kentucky Park Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born March 28, 1989 in New Bern, North Carolina she was the daughter of Wade and Tonya (Turner) Rodgers.
Emily attended Monroe Public Schools and Orchard School. She also attended Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her father, Wade Rodgers of Greenville, North Carolina; her mother, Tonya L. Rodgers of Monroe; a son, Gabriel D. Gonzales at home; a sister, Amanda "Kay" Kachold of Davenport, Iowa; grandparents, Carol (Larry) Moran of Monroe and Darrell Turner of the Carolinas; great grandfather, James Edward Olson of Henderson, Nevada and a nephew, Julian Almandinger.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Eula Rodgers.
