PERKINS, CHARLES JUNIOR - passed away on July 16th, 2008 at 2:55 PM in his home of over 20 years by the lake in Knoxville. Charles died at the age of 69 of cancer and complications from pulmonary fibrosis. He was the son of Wesley Perkins and Bestus Perkins and brother to June Morrison, William "Bill" Perkins, and Walter "Lige" Perkins. On August 5th 1961 Charles married his beautiful bride Louise Ward in Kingston, TN on the lake. He left two children Penny Lowe and Patrick Perkins, two grandchildren Randall Lowe and Amanda Lowe and one great-grandchild, Camden Wilmoth. He was enlisted in the US Army, 187th Airborne and served his country faithfully for four years. Charles worked as a heavy equipment operator associated with numerous companies in the railroad industry, including Northfolk Southern since the early 1970's. He spent most of his time working long hours and also loved to take his boat out with his first mate, Duke. The family would like to thank his best friends Grover Honeycutt and Marvin Frisbee, all of his co-workers associated with the railways, family, and neighbors for all of their support and giving hearts during this time of grief. Receiving of family and friends will be Saturday night, 6 - 8 PM at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. The funeral service will be Sunday, 2 PM at Weatherford Mortuary, followed by the burial at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. www.weatherfordmortuary.com
