Adolph Lund was born Jan. 19, 1896, in Blue Mounds Township, Pope /county, the son of John O. and Hannah (Haugen) Lund. He was inducted into the US Army on Feb. 24, 1918, & served in Europe with Co. D 118th Infantry, 30th Division, during WWI. He saw heavy attle and stares and injured by gas, being hospitalized in England. He was discharged from the Army on April 10, 1919. He then attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis receiving his training as an electrician.

He married Mildred G. Newlin on March 1, 1924 in Minneapolis. He worked as an electrician before moving to Glenwood in 1930 where he started his own electrical business. He sold this business in 1952 & began work as state electrical inspector for Pope, Douglas, Swift and Kandiyohi counties. He retired in 1972. He was a member of the American Legion & a charter member of the VFW and WWI Veterans Post in Glenwood and a Mason. These past winters he spent with his daughter, Sally Hinshaw in California.

Surviving are a daughter, Flora Jane Christensen of San Diego, CA; a son-in-law, William Hinshaw; a brother Victor Lund of Port Orchard, WA; a sister, Alma Rosten of Glenwood; 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred in 1986; daughter Sally in 1993; five brothers, Oscar, Henry, William, Norman and Edwin; a sister, Mary Amundson; and nephew Gene Christensen.
