ELOY — Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the
Valley Funeral Home chapel for Samuel Sylvester who died
Sunday at Pinal County Nursing Home, Florence. He was 81.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The
Rev. Edgar Miller of the First Baptist Church in Arizona City
will officiate. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Sylvester was born June 19,1902 in Union City, Okla. A
resident of Eloy for 27 years, he had worked as a professional
clown for 50 years. One of his last jobs prior to retirement was
touring the United States with the Kelly and Miller Circus.
He is survived by his brothers, Homer Sylvester of Eloy, Roy
Sylvester of Idaho, Eddie Sylvester of California; and his sister,
Mrs. Ethel Pember of California.
