Mrs. Hoover had been making her home in Harrisonburg since 1947. She was a sales clerk at J.C. Penny, was a helper at Medco Pharmacy, and many years ago had worked at Grants. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
On Aug. 16, 1947, she married William Joseph Hoover, who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2006.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Hoover Arbogast and her husband, Kelly, of Harrisonburg, and two sisters-in-law, Janet Hoover Liskey of Harrisonburg, and Thelma Lilley of Staunton.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. The casket will be closed. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Wednesday morning from the Chapel of the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Shull officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1477, Harrisonburg, VA or Rockingham Memorial Hospice Unit, 235 Cantrell Ave., Harrisonburg, VA .
