THE LAMPASAS LEADER (Lampasas, Texas)
Friday, December 2, 1904
W. L. Abbott Dead.
From Tuesday's Daily Leader.
Messages were received here this morning saying that Mr. W. L. Abbott had died at his home in Hillsboro, and that the body would be brought here for interment in the city cemetery. Mr. Abbott was for many years a citizen of Lampasas, but left here something more than ten years ago, and for a time lived at Beeville, later going to Hill county, where he has since resided. He married a sister of Mr. H. P. Edwards, Sr., and she died at Beeville some years since and was buried here. They had no children, but raised a number of orphans, some of whom are now of the most respected citizens of this state. Mr. Abbott was a member of the Methodist church, a Mason and an excellent man. His burial will take place tomorrow at 10 o'clock and will be conducted by the local Masonic lodge.
He was widowed, residing in Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas at the time of his death.
