Leon Coffman, 82, of Idabel, went to be with his lord and sav-ior
on Dec. 15, 2008, at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel.
He was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Garvin, the son of Manuel Coffman and Ruby Cherry Coffman.
Leon was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and VFW in Idabel and a mem-ber of the Watermill Baptist Church. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Debbie Coffman Gilbert, a son-in-law, Glen Gilbert and a brother, Hubert Coffman.
Leon is survived by his chil-dren's mother, Mary Nell Coffman of Idabel; one son and daughter-in-law, Winfred and Jan Coffman, of Jonesboro, La.; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Allen Fitzsimmons of Idabel; one brother and sister-in-law, Thurman and Evelyn Coffman of Valliant; three sisters and two brothers in-law, Bernice and Johnny Horton of Idabel, Lorene Holbert of Idabel and Margaret and Morris Murray of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Stefani Cooper of Jonesboro, La., and Jennifer Rutherford of Idabel; three great-grandchildren, Ma-lynn Cooper of Jonesboro, La., Elijah and Eleyah Rutherford of Idabel; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Norwood-Nation Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19 at Norwood-Nation Chapel with the Rev. Orville Minyard and the Rev. Elwayne Schaeffer officiating. Interment will follow in Valliant Cemetery.
