"May 8 1914 FRI; Death W R HALL at Dothan, this week was father of 2. One of Alabama's brightest newspaper men, W T HALL of Dothan Eagle & Grover HALL of the Montgomery Advertiser." Births, Deaths, & Marriages from "The Andalusia Star" 1913-1914.

The above information from the "Andalusia Star" is not correct and incomplete. William was the father of 8 children:

1. Benjamin Luther Hall 1860 – 1946 His mother was Eliza Jane Patman. Eliza and William married Henry Co AL, 19 Oct 1858 and divorced about 1860. Marriage records indicate it was a bitter divorce. William moved to Columbia Co Florida with his cousin, and returned to Alabama to enlist in the Civil war. An attempt was made to obtain their divorce records, but, "the courthouse buried" four times in the 1880 and all prior records were lost - really.

William married second, to Permelia Ann Davis (1847 – 1915), on 9 May 1867 in Henry Co AL and they had seven more sons:

2. Jeptha Perryman Hall 1868 – 1926;
3. Samuel Thomas Hall; 1869 – 1953;
4. William Theodore Hall; 1871 – 1924;
5. Joseph West Hall 1879 – 1954;
6. Edmund Cody Hall 1880 – 1941;
7. Charles Solomon "Charlie" Hall 1882 – 1951;
8. Grover Cleveland Hall 1888 – 1941
