Lulu Junior Squire was born on March 27,1887 to Mary Ellen DuBoise/ and George Junier from unknown Portuguese extraction. At some point the father Americanized his name to Junior. Oral history states George got his young wife Mary from an Indian reservation.Lulu was better know as "Nana" to her grands and greatgrands. She never learned to read and write but she had a lot of mother wit and common sense. She and her husband Jefferson Squire raised four children but Lulu only birth one, Rose Batum. Her commitment to all the children was unwavering. People knew she loved children and as was the case brought then to the house for her to take care of them and then never returned.
