1879 - Hon. Isaac Adams died in Cottage Grove, Dane Co., Sept. 28th, in his fifty-fifth year. He was a native of Oneida Co., N.Y., and settled in Wisconsin in 1853. Besides filling many local offices, he was a member of the legislature for 1867 and 1875.

Died
Adams--On the 28th Inst., at his residence in the town of Cottage Grove, after a long and painful illness, Mr. Isaac Adams, aged 54 years.
Thus has passed away from among us another of our old and respected citizens. Mr. Adams settled on Liberty Prairie about twenty-six years ago; and during all this time he has been an active member of society, always foremost in every good and charitable object in his neighborhood; his heart and hand always open to the truly needful. He represented his district ably and to the entire satisfaction of his constituents, in the State Legislatures of 1867 and 1873, and has more than once been chairman of his town. His public actions, like his private life, were always just and honest. He leaves a wife ad son and numerous other relatives, to mourn their irreparable loss. His death has left a vzcuum in his neighborhood, that will be very hard to fill; and on his tombstone may truthfully be written; "Here lies an honest man, at rest, As e'er God with his image blest."
