Mr. Tibesar, 96, formerly of Rollingstone, died Thursday (Oct. 23, 2008) at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. His body has been cremated.
He was born Dec. 25, 1911, in Mount Vernon Township, Winona County. He was a 1929 graduate of St. Felix High School in Wabasha. He worked for McConnon's in Winona as an accountant and was the office manager for Altura Elevator, which was later purchased by Hubbard Milling. He retired from Hubbard on Dec. 31, 1976.
Mr. Tibesar married Lucille Dickman on Sept. 1, 1937, in Theilman. She died Oct. 26, 1949. On May 27, 1950, he married Mae Smith in Avon, Minn. She preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 2004. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone and the St. Nicholas Society. His hobbies included fishing and hunting, and woodworking.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail (Maurice) Meier of Birchwood, Wis.; a son, Paul (Cynthia) of Red Wing; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Sister Cephas Tibesar OSF of Rochester; and a brother, Cletus of Billings, Mont. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Mary (Wieser) Tibesar; two brothers, Bernard and Henry; and a sister, Susanna Hickey.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Nov. 13 at the church in Rollingstone.
