Virginia Ruth Spence Osborne, 90, joined her heavenly family on January 6, 2006. She had been a resident of Corpus Christi since 1950, having moved here from Miami, Oklahoma. She was born to Charles Lewis Spence and Levena Annie Beager Spence on October 10, 1915 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joe; her brother, Ben Spence; her sisters, Beth Stoskoph, Lois Scullawl, and Midge Statton.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon (Bob) Plough of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cathy (Jim) Rodgers of Austin, Texas, Debra (Wayne) Spears of Tyler, Texas, and Linda Fields of Victoria, Texas. She is also survived by 7 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 2 great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church since 1953. She worked in the Sunday School Department for 20 years, first as a teacher, then as a supervisor. She later worked for many years on the Altar Guild.

Holy Eucharist was celebrated at All Saints Episcopal Church on Monday, January 9, 2006.
