Son of Alvie and Viola McLeod.
Brother of John, James E. and Samuel McLeod and Dorothy McLeod Burkett.
Staff member at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis for 15 years, finally as box office manager. Former president and volunteer of Friends of the Orpheum. Much beloved because of his natural sweetness and many kindnesses. He always had a smile for everyone that sometimes even looked a little like he knew something you didn't know. The Orpheum scheduled a gathering to celebrate his life at the theatre which he called home and loved on September 23, 2008.
He also was an early activist in the GLBT community serving as treasurer for the Memphis Gay Coalition from 1980 to 1990. The flag at the Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center was lowered to half staff at his passing in honor of his many contributions.
