Norma Jeane Bauer, 67 years of Sheldon, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, Missouri. Norma was born on March 23, 1941 in Henryetta, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Sam and Dicie (Eslick) Young. Her family moved to Southwest Missouri when Norma was just a child. On August 29, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Elvin Franklin Bauer and to this union two sons and one daughter were born. For several years she and Elvin made their home near Grove, Oklahoma. Besides being a homemaker to her husband and family, Norma also worked in the field of health care as a nurse. They moved from Warsaw, Missouri to Sheldon, Missouri in 2006. She greatly loved her family especially her numerous grandchildren. She enjoyed the great outdoors where her favorite activities were fishing and camping. Norma was of the Holiness faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bobby Bauer; a grandson, Kevin Stewart; a great granddaughter, Alexis Bauer; a brother, Buster Eslick; and four sisters, Ola May Eslick, Velma Pierce, Bessie Pierce and Goldie Reeves.

Norma is survived by her husband of 50 years, Elvin Bauer of the home; a daughter, Eva Hart and husband, Phill, of Sheldon, Missouri; a son, Elvin J. Bauer of Warswa, Missouri; seven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; a sister, Ollie Lamb of Humeston, Iowa; a special niece of whom she thought of as a daughter, Treasia Rock of Lanagan, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends. Funeral services for Norma Jeane Bauer are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008 in the Anderson chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineville Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Justin Bauer, Dewayne Bauer, Lynn Handle, Roger Handle, David Bauer and Nathan Bauer.
