Co D 27th Missouri Mounted Infantry. On May 7 1865 a band of 200 Bushwhackers led by Arch Clements and Dave Pool robbed and burned the towns of Holden and Kingsville. Citizens of Kingsville led by Capt. Duncan tried to defend the town but were gravely outnumbered. Capt. Duncan was mortally wounded along with 6 others 2 of which were his sons.
