J S Cutbirth, affectionately known as "Bud," was the son of Elijah Cutbirth and Annie Odle. He never married, but contributed to the well-being of those around him; remarkable because J S was blind.

None in our family is left to tell us if J S was blind from birth or how he became blind. But his condition was faithfully recorded, out of love. And so it is now.

James Samuel Cutbirth, Thou Art Still Loved.

Note to Poston-Odle Cemetery and family researchers: our loved one was innocently mis-recorded by respected family researcher, Hugh Adams -- who is also part of our extended family tree.

Hugh left a detailed "map" of relationships for the cemetery, entitled "Relationship Chart for Those Buried in Poston-Odle Cemetery" -- and it can be seen here: Samuel Odle, Find A Grave Memorial# 28499893.

Near the bottom of the page, under "Other Kinship in Poston-Odle Cemetery", Hugh recorded: "Cutbirth, J S (son of Narcissa - ?)"

Hugh did not know the 'Narcissa' in the listing was actually Narcissus Odle Cutbirth, the aunt of J S Cutbirth, instead of mother. Bud's mother, Annie Odle Cutbirth, was sister to Narcissus. These two Odle daughters of John Odle Sr (brother of the above named, Samuel Odle), married two Cutbirth brothers, Elijah and Daniel -- and thus began the modern day founding of our Cutbirth clan.

Warmly,
Debra Rodgers Blackmon
With great respect to Hugh Carroll Adams, Find A Grave Memorial# 46182901.

Dearest Hugh, there are a few more mis-recordings in your list--don't worry. We're on it. But wish you were still here to discuss it.
