RODRIGGS LAWRENCE R. Age 70, resident of Newark, died peacefully at his home on May 14, 2003. He was born December 27, 1932 in Wailuku, Maui. The recipient of many national awards for his work in writing, editing and publishing, Larry has also served as president of the Public Relations Society of America, the Advertising and Marketing Association of the East Bay and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. He has given much of his time for community and charitable organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America, Junior Achievement and the Cerebral Palsy Center for the Bay Area, Veterans Hospitals and the United Way. Family was a very important part of Larry's life. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly and also took great pleasure in researching his family roots. He organized several reunions at the family homestead in Wailuku, Maui. His research took him and a "roots tour group" of family members back to Portugal and the Azores where they found cousins from ancestors going back five generations. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Jean Rodriggs, his son, Steven of Fremont, daughter-in-law, Mary and grandchildren, Patrick, Timothy and Kathryn, his son, Michael Rodriggs of Houston, TX, daughter-in-law, Liana and grandchildren, Ryan, Harrison and Lucas and brother, Bill Rodriggs of San Ramon. Larry will be missed by the many people who have been touched by his life. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in honor of Larry Rodriggs at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Newark, CA on May 27, 2003 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the U.S.S.
