The Malheur Enterprise, 3 May 1945:

"Sgt. Ted R. Chambers, Oregon State Police officer who was killed by outlaws resisting arrest, Sunday afternoon, was buried in Ontario, Tuesday afternoon, following services at Peterson's funeral chapel.

"Thirty six state police officers in uniform attended the service Tuesday.

"He was born Nov. 7, 1900 at Prairie City and has lived in Ontario for the past 13 years. He joined the state patrol in 1929 and had been employed in that service until the time of his death which occurred while he was in the line of duty.

"Survivors include his widow, twin sons, Joe and Jim, all of Ontario, two step daughters, Loretta Collins of Palo Alto, California and Pvt. Inza Geer with the WACs at Denver, Colo; three brothers, Richard Chambers, Prairie City, Frank Chambers, Condon and Pvt. Joe Chambers with the army in the Philippines; and three sisters, Mrs. Carlos Partin, John Day, Mrs. William Monahan, Red Bluff, Calif and Mrs. E. E. Cook, Austin, Oregon."
