A memorial service for Daniel James Baugher, 20, of Durham, California will be held on Saturday, February 16, 208, 2:00 p.m. at Haleys Martial Arts Center, 265 Cohasset Road in Chico. Daniel died on February 4, 2008 at Enloe Medical Center. He was born on July 3, 1987 in Chico to Jim and Linda Baugher. In Daniel's young life he had his first Kyu in karate at the age of ten and was able to travel to Okinawa to train under the Grand Master. Daniel loved the outdoors. He was involved in BMX racing, fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, paintballing, snowboarding, but most of all he loved camping and hunting along the Sacramento River.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Jim and Linda of Durham, brothers, Dennis Baugher and Johnnie Doremus, and his nephew, J.J., as well as many extended family members and friends. Daniel's giving heart and never ending smile will be remembered by all those who were lucky enough to have known him. When Daniel left this life, seven organs were donated, so that others may live on.
An account (Daniel Baugher Memorial Fund) has been set up in lieu of flowers at any Tri Counties bank to help cover medical expenses.

A young Durham man allegedly shot himself in the head while driving on Grainland Road early Sunday morning, in what officials believe was an attempt to commit suicide. On Tuesday afternoon, Daniel J. Baugher, 20, was reported in "undetermined" condition at Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
The California Highway Patrol said Baugher was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee on Grainland Road, just west of Aguas Frias Road, when he struck a power pole, shearing it off.

I believe his death was found to be accidental, buy not sure.
