Musician, Singer. Leonor Llorente Machado was a Yucatecan, guitarist, pianist and soprano of the National Opera Company. She perfomed Verdi's song "Pace mio dio" at the Excelsior radio station in August, 1925, and at the end of 1925 she was part of the staging of "Bohemia" with Mercedes Caraza, Felipe del Hoyo and the baritone Ángel R. Esquivel. She was the second wife of former President of Mexico Plutarco Elías Calles, whom she married on August 2, 1930. They had two children Plutarco José (1931) and Leonardo Gilberto (1932). After an operation from which she appeared to be recovering, Llorente died in 1932 of brain cancer at age 29.
