He was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Cortez and was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. He was a commercial fisherman for 60 years and captained "The Warren Jr." for 20 years. He co-owned A.P. Bell Fish Co. with three of his brothers. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a sergeant in the Korean War. He was a greyhound racing fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Deserie Assante of St. Petersburg; brothers Walter and Calvin, both of Cortez, and Chester and Doug, both of Bradenton; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton. Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 26th Street Chapel, is in charge.
