Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel in Colleyville. Burial will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allen was born on May 5, 1922, in Shreveport, La. She led a fulfilling life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved and served God with all her heart. Mimmie was a friend to all and encouraged everyone she met to keep their eyes upon Jesus and to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord" (Psalms 100:1). She was greatly loved and will be truly missed.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, C.L. Allen Sr.; son, Roger Allen; and twin sister, Evelyn Barnes.
Survivors: Her sons, C.L. "Rusty" Allen and Charlotte Allen, Don and Cheryl Allen; grandchildren, Lara Rawls, Andrew and Alison Allen, and Cassie Allen; niece, Linda Gossett; five great-grandchildren; and her dear friend, Ruth Osbourne.
