Gertrude Ann Hayhurst

She lived in Wellsburg, West Virginia; Homestead, Florida; Minot, North Dakota; and Palm Harbor, Florida. She moved to Eudora, Kansas in 1999.


Trudy graduated from Wellsburg (West Virginia) High School with the class of 1961. In 1995, she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from University of South Florida, with an emphasis in Women's Studies.


Trudy was a social worker in Palm Harbor, Florida, working with the elderly on craft therapy.


She was a member of Eudora United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Warsteiner Balloon Chase Crew in Albuquerque, New Mexico.


On July 1, 1982, Trudy was united in marriage with John T. Hayhurst. He preceded her in death in December of 1998. In September of 1962, Trudy married Harry H. West, Sr. They later divorced.


SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at Eudora United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2004.


OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Jeff Shepardson.


IN STATE: Mrs. Hayhurst's body has been donated to the Kansas University Medical Center Anatomy Department for scientific study.


MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Douglas County, 200 Main St., Suite D, Lawrence, Kansas 66044. Dengel & Son Mortuary of Ottawa in charge of arrangements.
