today. Mrs. Allen had been ill
since last March.
Mrs. Allen, the wife of Edgar F
Allen, founder and president emeritus
of the International Society
for Crippled Children, has been
active in civic affairs here for
many years.
She was treasurer of the -woman's
auxiliary of the Elyria Memorial
Hospital for a number of
years and a former president of
the auxiliary.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen would have
celebrated their fiftieth wedding
anniversary next year, having
been married on June 23, 1886.
Before her marriage she was Miss
Blanche Wood, of New London.
She is survived by her husband
and by one son, Frank B. Allen,
of Philadelphia. Another son,
Homer, was killed in the Memorial
Day wreck in Elyria in 1907.l
