Duane J. Abbott, 77, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on November 4, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones, watching Westerns. He fought the long battle of cancer and sadly lost. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 9 at Weerts Funeral Home at 1pm; visitation will be held before the service at 11am. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park following the services. Memorials may be left to the family.
Duane was born on March 22, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa to Journey and Opal (Jump) Abbott. He married Christine Howard on November 27, 1971 in Rock Island, this month would have been 54 years together. Duane worked for 36 years and retired from Case IH (New Holland) in East Moline, IL. He also owned and operated Dj Auction Service for many years.
He loved flea markets, yard sales, and dwindling the prices down. He loved hunting and fishing before the passing of his son Dj. He really loved his Whitey's ice cream and eating catfish with his daughter Jody. Duane was a very hard working man that would do anything for his family and friends, at any time.
Survivors include his loving wife Christine Abbott; Daughters Tammy Lynn (Gary) Michaud, Brenda (Dani) Lucas, Doris Abbott, Jody (Steve) Wollett, Hope (Dan) Searsella; brothers Larry Abbott, Chuck (Kathy) Miller, Mike (Tracy) Miller, Joe Miller and 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Duane was preceded in by his parents, his sister Emma Abbott, and his only spoiled son Dj (Duane Abbott II).
