Professional Football Player. For nine seasons (1965 to 1973), he played at the safety and cornerback positions in the American and National Football Leagues with the Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers, Houston Oilers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Detroit Lions. Born Miller Farr Jr., he attended Herbert High School in Texas where he first made his impression on the football field, in addition to lettering in track & field, baseball, and basketball. After enrolling at Wichita State on an athletic scholarship, he led the nation in both kickoff and punt returns while earning All-Conference honors. Selected by the Denver Broncos as the number one overall pick during the 1965 AFL Draft, he totaled 113 career regular season games. Farr distinguished himself when he achieved Pro-Bowl honors three consecutive seasons (1967 to 1969) and All-Pro honors twice (1967 and 1968). In 1967, he led the league in interceptions with 10 yards after interception with 264 and 3 touchdowns after interception. After retiring from football, he worked as the general manager of an automobile dealership in Michigan. His younger brother Mel Farr was also a professional football player, in addition to his sons Mel and Mike.
