A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 24, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market Street, York with Rev. Dominic Eshikena, OP officiating. A viewing will be held from 5-7:00 PM Sunday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Born November 4, 1949 in York, a son of the late Henry and Gloria (Adams) Trimmer, he was a 1967 graduate of York Catholic High School. Following high school, Mr. Trimmer served in the US Army where he earned the National Defense Services, Good Conduct, and Expert Rifleman medals during the Vietnam War. Upon his Honorable Discharge, John began his career at Standard Register until his retirement. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Shiloh American Legion. Mr. Trimmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, reloading ammunition, gardening, and going on camping trips with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Trimmer is survived by two daughters, Melissa K. and husband Jason Ilgen and Beth A. Trimmer and her boyfriend Joe Fallon both of York; a son, Brent E. and wife Ashley Trimmer of Lititz; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Lauren, Hazel, and Benjamin; and five siblings, Greg and Mike Trimmer, Roxanne Swift, Connie McNally, and Lynn Mundy all of York.
