Mrs. Martha Jane Henderson, 64, of Harrisonburg, died in Deville Sunday, Feb. 6, at 12:45. Death was attributed to diabetic stroke.

Funeral rites were held Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. in the Pentecostal Church in Harrisonburg, with the Rev. Tom Mayo officiating.

Interment was in the Harrisonburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Henderson, nee Martha Jane Crooks, was born October 6, 1884, in Buckley. She was married in August 1900 in Alexandria to the late J. D. Henderson. Since the marriage, the couple resided in Buckley, Alexandria, Lecompte, and Harrisonburg.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by four sons, J. M. and Garner, both of Deville, Barney, of Jena, and James, Natchez, Miss.; and four daughters, Mrs. Octavia Johnson, Mrs. Annie Tomlinson, and Mrs. Laura Holloway, all of Harrisonburg, and Mrs. Hattie Shipley of Columbia.

Also surviving are two sisters, three brothers, and 24 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Guy Peart, James Robinson, J. C. Henderson, Dale Paul, Melvin Henderson, Wash Crooks, Claude Henderson, and Marion Henderson.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals.
