Dean Clinton Maskrey passed away early Monday, June 12 at the age of 92 in his Greenville home. Dean was born on August 16, 1930, in Sharon, the son of the late Dewey Clinton and Frances Mary (Martin) Maskrey. A proud Korean war veteran, Dean served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after four years. After returning from Korea, Dean earned a Conservation degree. He then wanted to explore a bit of the United States traveling to Colorado working as a laborer and then on to Iowa, working as a farm hand. Dean moved back home to care for his parents. He was very proud of his property in Mercer, PA. He enjoyed working in his extensive vegetable garden and caring for the trees on the property. Dean is preceded in death by his parents and his five siblings, two brothers, Arthur and Robert Maskrey and three sisters, Nancy Mann, Delora Greenlee and Rose Lark. Dean will be remembered as being very independent. He also enjoyed telling stories about the war and his adventures out west.  He was also a dog lover, having three Beagles over the years. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Monday, June 19th at Millbank Cemetery, Fredonia Road, Fredonia, PA. Full military honors will be rendered by the Greenville American Legion Honor Guard.
